Recently, there have been a lot of cars on the auctions with broken air conditioners.
This seems especially true for foreign cars (Mercedes, BMW, etc).
Sometimes they can be fixed by adding coolant, other times the compressor is broken
Unfortunately this is often not written on the check sheets, making things difficult.
Market prices in Japan have soared recently.
As people in Japan are reluctant to buy new cars, the number of used cars going to the auctions has dropped in half.
Now buyers are competing fiercely to get the more popular cars, driving up the final prices.
It looks like this situation will continue for a while, so if you find a car you really want to buy,
put in a bid that is a bid higher than usual, to increase your chances of winning.
